GETTING STARTED
Your first painting project, simplified.
A short checklist for a clearer conversation and a smoother start.

Color and finish inspiration for your home.
Define the scope
List the rooms and surfaces you want painted, including ceilings, trim, doors, and closets. Note damage, stains, difficult access, and any areas that need special attention. Photos and approximate dimensions help begin a useful discussion.
Talk about daily life
Share your timing, access restrictions, furniture arrangements, pets, and rooms you need to keep available. Decide what needs to be moved and who will move it before work starts.
Get the details in writing
A useful proposal identifies preparation, surfaces, products, finish, coats or coverage expectations, exclusions, timing, and payment terms. Ask questions about anything unclear before agreeing. For older homes, discuss whether lead-safe requirements apply before disturbing existing coatings.
